(Click here for Trail Conditions)               at Brian Thompson's residence, 907 Highland Ave, Herkimer, NY.  7:00pm sharp

As the sign says... "Welcome to our trail system".  Our trail committee members take great pride in providing snowmobilers a safe and enjoyable ride on our trails.  Whether you are out with your family or riding with the "gang" we ask that you ride responsibly and be respectful to our landowners.

East Herkimer BR180 GroomerFrom the Town of Little Falls, through the Town of Herkimer to the Town of Schuyler, our  trail committee maintains over 36 miles of well groomed trails.  30 of those miles are "class A" corridor trails and the other 6 miles are "class B" secondary trails.  Those are our funded trails that are recognized by the NYS Office of Parks and Recreation.   The committee is also responsible for maintaining several more miles of feeder trails that allow our members access to the main trail system.

Countless hours are put into these trails each year before the season even starts.  Brushing, signing, rebuilding old bridges, designing & building new bridgesrebuilding a bridge and adjusting to the changes in our system keep our crews busy on a full time basis.   One major project was the construction of a 12ft. X 30 ft. bridge on trail C7a near Short Lots road which enables a smooth crossing for riders of the trail during the season and sturdy crossing for the landowner in the summer.  A second new bridge was completed on a secondary trail from 7a down to Schyuler four corners.  This was done with the help of the West Canada Trail Riders club.

Club member, Steve Keblish, widened the trail on the steep back side of Kast Hill Farm (trail 4a) near West End road.  That portion of the trail was greatly improved by Steve and his commercial equipment.  Steve continues to be a valuable asset to the club and we are lucky to have him.

junction signs A new junction post has been erected at junction #6 near Johnson corners in the Town of Schuyler.

Of course, the trails have been signed with the normal trail signs indicating turns, stops, openings or trail changes.  We ask that our trail users stay on the trail & respect the landowners property.
Please pay attention to the signs along the trail and beware of any animals near or on the trail.

THANK YOU!

Many of the trail improvements have been made possible because of the following businesses.  Their donation of materials, services, specialized equipment, fuel and skilled manpower help us provide our trail riders with modern, safe and fun bridges & trails.  Together, their donations saved our club several thousands of dollars.  If you see any of them, take the time to stop and thank them for their generosity.  Their efforts along with our trail committee members steadily improve the enjoyment of our sport.  We, as a club, recommend each of them as quality work is always their priority.
